You Will Be More Uncomfortable After Contracting Covid-19 Than Wearing Face Masks – Health Director

The district health director of fanteakwa south district health directorate, Mr Atuahene Agyeman, has advised that those who claim they feel uncomfortable when wearing face masks to manage and continue wearing for they would be more uncomfortable when they contract the deadly coronavirus pandemic; Covid-19.

According to him, patients of the novel Covid-19 are isolated, prevented to meet family members including spouses and children for about a month before if they test negative, they are allowed to go home.

As part of the Ghana Health Service’s measures in mitigating the effects of the deadly virus, citizens are mandated to wear face masks, wash their hands with soap under running water, Use tissue papers when sneezing and coughing and dispose them off after use, frequently use alcohol based hand sanitisers, and practice social and physical distances, however, most citizens are not adhering to the wearing of face masks with the excuse that they feel uncomfortable for wearing.

Speaking on ‘Me ne wo Apomuden,’ a health program on Radio 1, the district health director revealed to the host, Nana Yaa Agyapomaa and of course the general public that though the district has yet to record a case, all districts it shares boundaries with have confirmed cases which calls for the need to be alert.

Moreover, he added that the Covid-19 response team of fanteakwa south, chaired by the district chief executive officer, Hon. Kwasi Ntori Adjabeng had a meeting with heads of the religious bodies in the district to discuss the way forward to re-opening churches and mosques at a time that the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has eased the restrictions on their services but with new directives.

Mr Agyemang said, a decision is reached by both parties to hire Zoomlion Ghana to fumigate all churches and mosques before they start worshiping. Again, any church which does not meet the directives given by the president in his last address to the nation must stay home until fully prepared to meet the directives.

The district has slated next week to meet with Parents even as they also await reopening of schools.
