“Your Safety Our Concern” – EC Chooses Slogan For This Year’s Voters Registration Exercise

The electoral commission under the leadership of Mrs Jean Mensa, in spite of the spike in cases of the deadly coronavirus pandemic in Ghana has secured the green light from the competent apex court of the country, supreme court and parliament to conduct a new voters register for the 2020 general election in December.
As the nation is also hit with the pandemic and activities not organised the normal way, the electoral commission is poised at putting measures in place that would ensure all participants are safe from the novel Covid-19 pandemic.
For this reason the commission adopts a slogan; ‘Your Safety Our Concern’ which would remind them to work towards the safety of the electorate, i.e. participant in the registration exercise.
Based on the slogan, the electoral commission has made ready at all the centers all the essentials protocols needed for mitigating the effects of the virus. The commission would ensure there is veronica buckets at the center, liquid soaps, paper towels, alcohol based hand sanitisers and the social distancing protocols observed.

Ghana has as at the time of filing this post recorded 16, 742 confirmed cases, 12,720 recoveries, and 112 death.
