Five Officers Of Ghana Immigration Service Interdicted for Allegedly Facilitating Illegal Entries

A male Officer and four female officers of the Ghana immigration service have with immediate effect been interdicted.

This was revealed in a letter from the Ghana immigration service copied to various hierarchies of the service to notify them of the decision taken.

The offence of these five officers is an allegation to have facilitated the entry of a group of foreigners into the country through illegal routes.

The five officers are; Asst Inspector Isaac Ahiafor Agbeyenyega, Asst Inspector Sarah Adubea, ICO Juliana Anning, ICO Jennifer Owusu Ansah, and R.O Joyce Nketia.

“This is to inform you that the above named officers have been interdicted with immediate effect. It is consequent to their alleged involvement in the facilitation of illegal entries of foreign nationals through unapproved routes in the Aflao sectorcommand, acts which constitute offences under section 52(1) of the immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573); ‘A person who assists any person to enter Ghana in contravention of this Act’ and also in breach of the president’s directive on border closure” – the statement read.

It was revealed therefore that while on interdiction, they are entitled to two thirds (2/3) of their salaries.
