Prof Jane Naana Opku – Agyemang, the running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC is astonished how her pronouncement as the running mate for the NDC has generated a web of responses and debate in the country.
She thus reveal that little did she know her name would generate such an atmosphere and therefore expressed her utmost heartfelt felicitation to the flag-bearer, John Dramani Mahama and the rank and file of the party for the confidence they have got in her especially being the first female running mate.
She disclosed this when addressing a ceremony organised by the party to officially outdoor her as the party’s running mate ahead of the December 7 2020 general election.
“Your Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, your singular decision to select me as your running mate has generated a whole web of responses and debate in this country. And i didn’t know my name would create such an atmosphere in the country” – Prof. Jane Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang said.

She added that the debate has raised a new focal point for women and girls in that it is a privilege for women in the country.
“But importantly, out of all the debate, the major point for me is the new focal point for girls and women. You have respected women. The women of Ghana will not forget, the youth will remember, generations to come will commit your decision to memory and make it a reference point” – Prof. Naana maintained.
