Former president and flag-bearer of the opposition National Democratic congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama can not fathom why the governing New Patriotic Party parade themselves as the party with unprecedented legacies and the administration with most developmental projects in the fourth republic.

According to the former president, contrary to what the NPP is projecting, it is evidently clear that the current administration has sunk the growth of the economy and very much surprised his colleague NPP are doing so.

Addressing a gathering of chiefs and people when he called on the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, at his palace in Ho as part of the former’s four-day tour of the Volta Region, Mr John Dramani Mahama asked whether NPP is living on Jupiter or here in Ghana.

“Those managing the country, all they know how to do is propaganda and praise themselves that they are the best administration and that their administration is even better than the Nkrumah’s administration. And Togbe, i ask myself, are they living in Jupiter or they are living here in Ghana? Because when the leadership gets detached from the reality on the ground, it a big problem” – Mahama stressed.

Moreover, he maintained that in his four years in office as president, he borrowed GHS 54 billion and there are evidence to what he used the money for but in the Akufo-Addo’s administration, he has borrowed GHS 140 billion but has nothing to show off.

“In the four years i served as president of this country, i added GHS 54bn to the public’s debt. But Togbe, that GHS 54bn, if you look over all this country, you will see evidence of what i the 54 billion money was used to do. Ho town roads, Ho airport, schools, hospitals, markets, electricity, water, harbor, interchanges, you can see evidence of the money. But Togbe, this government has borrowed GHS 140bn but has nothing to show.” – Mahama maintained
