Residents living in Assin Manpong, Asuboni Bonsu and its environs in the Assin South Constituency of the Central Region have threatened the government over their deplorable road network linking Bonsu to Aworoso.

According to the farmers and drivers who use the said route, they will not vote if their poor road networks are not fixed immediately.

Reliable source revealed by Oheneba Ambrose shows that, the road was constructed by Timber contractors in the early 90s.

According to the residents of the area, they have been facing this huge challenge for over 30 years now and nothing has been done about it despite their several complaints. They are now calling on the Government to come to their aid urgently.

They explained that, since Assin Aworoso CHIP Compound has been equiped with logistics they have to carry sick persons or pregnant women for delivery or proper healthcare and the bad roads make this difficult.

Moreover, the residents say, they transport their cocoa produce to Aworoso so Government should reshape Assin Nuanua Bonsu to Assin Aworoso road for Vehilcles to access the road easily.

The people made mention of the deplorable state of their Network system, the School block facility, portable water and the public toilet facility which was constructed munally by the community.

However, they said, “When it’s time for voting, Politicians will come around and after voting none of them will even decide to pay a visit to us’. ‘They always promise us that the road and others will be constructed anytime they are campaigning’, they added.

They said all these to Oheneba Ambrose(Inspector General) after the residents of Assin Nuanua and it environs went to communal labour to reshape the road for easy access.
