Lynching Of Witches: You Will Be Arrested If You Dare Accuse Any Woman Of Witchcraft – MP Warns

The member of parliament for kintampo south constituency, Hon. Felicia Adjei has thrown a word of caution to fake mallams, soothsayers and other so-called spiritualists to avoid accusing women in the society of witchcraft, saying that anyone who is found indulging in that will be arrested and dealt with according to the laws of the country.

She further called on the police, chiefs and other opinion leaders to make sure that individuals like that found in their jurisdictions are arrested and jailed  

Maame Felicia Adjei said this on Kintampo Radio’s ” EFIE Te SEN” program hosted by Nyiraba Nana Akua Takyiwaa on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

Using the Bible and the Quran as her reference, She said spiritualism is meant to guide human lives and not to be used for unnecessary accusations that will lead to the lynching of innocent people, especially, women.

Her comments came in a wake of the lynching of a 90 year old Akua Denteh at kafaba in the Savana region and another attempted lynching of a 60 year old Maria Ibrahim during the celebration of of this year’s Bugum festival in that same region.

Both two were accused of witchcraft.

Speaking further on the topic, “WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP” Hon. Felicia Adjei admonished women, especially, young ladies to work hard and take up leadership positions in the country.

She stressed that ladies are special creatures and, therefore, should not be taken for granted, adding that parents and the society in general should offer women the necessary support to go higher.
