“We Are Hungry, We Need Mining To Survive” – Youth Demonstrate Over Delayed Community Mining

The Concern Youth of Bibiani Small Scale Miners Association (CYOBSSMA) a pressure group within Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of Western North region have staged a massive demonstration today against the authorities of the assembly over what the demonstrators termed as negligence and delayance of the lond awaited community mining.

The demonstrators demanded that ,the authorities of the assembly permits them to do the Community mining in order to help them survive with their families.

“The reason for our demonstration today is that, we are hungry , we can’t sit for foreigners to enjoy our resources, we need legal mining to survive”, they emphasized.

Additionally, the leader of the group, Dominic Afriyie Stated that, the community mining will provide fund to support the assembly in community development projects.

“Our youth are starving, they have been arrested day in and out for unlawful reasons, money to buy food has become a problem for us, releasing the land for the Community mining will prevent stealing and other social vices”, he reiterated.

We are appealing to the President,H.E Nana Addo Dankwah I Akuffo Addo and other stakeholders to come to our aid and give us the permit to do the community mining.
