The eastern regional communication officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Williams Ampomah Darlas has alleged that the Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party, NPP is misappropriating the Covid-19 fund.

According to the communication officer, the party is sharing the fund among their party members and also using them as baits to win some members of the opposition NDC.

He made this allegation on Sunday 4th October 2020 when addressing a gathering of campaign launch of the fanteakwa south constituency in the eastern region. He therefore used the opportunity to reveal that even if the party members take the bait, they shouldn’t be moved but rather vote against NPP.

“We have seen our brethren in NPP are sharing money. They will call you and offer you GHS300, GHS500, GHS1,000. During the era of Covid-19, companies donated to the Covid-19 fund, World bank gave Mr Akufo-Addo about 1 billion dollars, IMF also gave Mr Akufo-Addo about 100 billion dollars. In all, they have raised about 250 billion dollars. Instead of them using the money to fight the deadly coronavirus, they are sharing the money among themselves. So if you are in the house and they offer you such money, take them for it belongs to the country. But don’t change your mind because of the money.” – Darlas Ampomah alleges.
