The parliamentary candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, in the Abuakwa South constituency in the eastern region, who is the author and publisher of the famous Physics Text Book; Alhaji Series, Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed has revealed that the president of Ghana and and presidential candidate for NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can only be remembered in the constituency for only one project he started but never completed during his tenure as the member of parliament for the constituency.

According to Alhaji Sanusi, in the 12 years of Nana Akufo-Addo as the parliamentary member for the constituency, he could be remembered for a court building he started but never completed.

Speaking on Bekyerem, a political show on Radio 1 100.7fm, the parliamentary candidate who looked more confident of snatching the seat from the incumbent added that Nana Addo has been the worse MP for the constituency.

Defending his argument, that going into 2020 election, the electorate would be voting based on developments and virtually all developmental infrastructure in the constituency is by the NDC government.

“He didn’t do anything. I’m very serious, he didn’t do anything. Virtually, i can’t point one thing that this is the achievement of Nana Addo except one uncompleted court. Even that it was an district assembly. Apart from that i don’t remember anything Nana Addo did for the constituency” – Alhaji Sanusi said.

However, the constituency chairman for the NPP refuted those claims and listed the efforts of the president. According to him, the NDC PC might look only at development at Kyebi not forgetting the Apapam road, and extending electricity to most areas. He added that Nana Addo invested more of his common fund into paying school fees and giving people scholarships which are not visible.

Abuakwa South constituency has been a stronghold of NPP and has won since 1996 to date except in 1992 when they boycotted the general election and even that, Owuraku Amofa of Eagle Party won the seat.
