However, this is the first time that we have experienced constructive, deliberative and strategic engagement with CSOs. Indeed for the first time, CSOs have a representative on the national steering committee.

We commend the management of GSS for demonstrating true partnership in this exercise.
Civil Society Organisations are key national development stakeholders and for such a crucial national exercise that will provide essential data for national development, we see our ability to engage with the grassroots as a much needed skill that needs to be deployed for the benefit of this national exercise. The Ghana CSOs Platform on SDGs strongly believe that the outcomes of the 2021 PHC will go a long way to facilitate the country’s progressive march towards the attainment of the SDGs.
The CSOs Platform on SDGs was established to ensure a more coordinated civil society efforts in achieving the SDGs in Ghana. We count more than 420 member organizations, consisting of coalitions, associations, unions, community-based organizations, local, national and international non-governmental organizations, and religious groups. Members are located across all the 16 regions and all districts of Ghana.
For an exercise that will produce a national database on the population, civil society actors are interested in ensuring that the enumeration does not leave any section of society behind. Therefore, we are committed to engage with the processes to ensure its popularity, visibility and wider coverage.
We are committed to sensitizing and rallying citizens to participate fully in the exercise. By so doing, we will be contributing to:
Increased knowledge among the citizenry on the 2021 PHC – regarding Timelines, Procedures, Practices and Expectations
Secure the buy-in of CSOs to amplify popular support for the program
Ensure that vulnerable groups are educated on the 2021 PHC
Your excellence, Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, this is our project and we have every responsibility to ensure its success. We desire to go into the annals of history for making our contributions to such an important national exercise. Therefore, we stand committed to this course and partnership.
Thank you.
