The National Chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has revealed that his party will table for a lot of electoral reforms ahead of the 2024 upcoming general election.

According to the cadre of the NDC, after the just ended 2020 general election, the NDC has identified some loopholes in the electoral reforms and would therefore push for them to be addressed.

Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo made these revelations in a one-on-one studio interview with O.B., host of Eko sii sɛn, a political program on Asempa Fm, on Thursday April 22 2021.

“We’ll push for electoral reforms both within the electoral commission and the Constitutional Instrument that guides all the processes of the electoral commission; for instance, that animal called Regional collation, we’ll have to take it out. Because elections are declared at the constituency level and it has gone with us all these years that constituency results would be transmitted directly to the strong room so that representatives in the strong room will communicate directly with those at the constituency. We disagree with it.” – Chairman Ofosu Ampofo said.
