Eastern Regional Manager of Water Resource Commission (WRC) Dr. Renalds Abraham has said that President Akufo-Addo’s approach in fighting illegal mining (galamsey) is bringing back the quality of our water bodies.
According to Dr. Abraham, in an interview on Radio1’s ‘Our Land Our Future’ program, this is a change in the turbidity of water bodies in the country for the better and this is proof that the war on galamsey has so far been successful.
“I’m speaking to you from Bunso and turbidity of the water here is coming back to live, and we are happy to see this change,” he told the host Michael Agyapong Agyapa.
“ The war that the President declared on galamsey is becoming successful in a way vis-à-vis our water bodies. So we should continue to support our President to fight this war,” he urged.
