A National communication Team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr. Prince Henry has advised His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and His Government to stop burning Excavators for the approach is against the laws of the country.
According to him, the approach will lead the nation to incur Judgement debt if the president pays death ears to his advise.
In a phone interview with Prince Henry on Radio 1 political show today 15th June 2021, Prince Henry passionately made this appeal to President Nana Akufo- Addo and his government to stop burning Excavators in the country. He said ” we can’ t fight illegality with an illegality, there is no law backing burning of Excavators, and if care is not taken, the country will face judgment debt in the near future” .
Moreover, Mr. Prince Henry emphatically stated that, ” there is no Law supporting this act in parliament so I was surprised to hear from the Lands Minister Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor supporting the approach. If there is a law supporting this act and the president said the affected persons (burning of Excavators owners) can go to court to test the law, i wouldn’ t be surprised. But I was amazed hearing such comment from the president, and I ought to ask, Is President Akufo Addo a lawyer? ” – He quizzed.

Moreover, Prince Henry further advised that government involves chiefs and other opinion leaders in fighting the galamsey and also provide alternative jobs in attempts to clamp down these illegalities.
He finally called on all well- meaning Ghanaians especially the media and mining communities to be patriotic enough to fish out those who are destroying our natural environment so as to help preserve the natural resources for future generations.
