Transeco Minerals And Mining Hands Over A 4- Unit Classroom Block To Community As Its Corporate Social Responsibility

Even as small Scale mining Companies are backlashed all over the country, Transeco minerals and mining has proved to be exceptional as the mining company keeps to its corporate social responsibility.
As part of its social responsibility, Transeco minerals and Mining hands over a 4 unit classroom block with washroom, staff common room, rest room and playing grounds to Ampapatia Methodist basic school in the Atiwa West district in the eastern region.
The facility which costs GHS 295, 601. 75 is one of the modern educational facility and the community is proud to have the facility.
The founder of the company, Mr Godwin Armah who prides himself as Chief Servant gave accounts of the cost of the facility and urged his fellow miners to do same.

” Education is very necessary and much attention must be given to the starters. The foundation must be strong to make the future bright. Education is one of the key of our corporate social responsibilities in all the areas we work. The cost of this school block is GHS 295, 601. 75. The school is a 4 unit classroom block with a staff common room. We have rest room where the pupils can rest when they are tired. I plead with parents to ensure their children go to school. ” – Chief Servant Godwin Armah said.
He added that, building the 4 unit block is not the only support they have rendered to the community but they have done more.
” It’ s not only the school. We have roofed the community’ s palace for them with an amount of GHS 43, 000. We also credited the community’ s account with the 1% agreed entitlement. ” – He added.
Moreover, Mr Godwin Armah advised his colleague miners to practice responsible mining and ensure they abide by their social responsibilities.
” My colleague miners, our job provides a lot of employment in the nation. We need to leave a trademark at where we work. The story has been one but there are a lot of stories we can tell. Most people are pointing hands at us for destroying the lands and water bodies. Let’ s practice proper mining so government and other stakeholders will allow us to work” – Mr Armah advised.
The deputy minister for Lands and natural Resources who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency was the special guest of honor for the occasion. The District Chief executive of Atiwa west, the Atiwa West Director of Education, traditional leaders and stakeholders of mining were also present at the ceremony.
