Natives of Bonkame And Sna, a krobo farming village at Bosuso in the Fanteakwa south district in the Eastern region of are mad at Both Contractor and Fanteakwa south Member of Parliament and District Assembly over an Abandoned constructed Bridge.
Motorists find it difficult to transport farm produce from their various farms to the market and market women who ply the road from Osino to begoro has to abandon the road and use the Bunso- Osiem road which is far all because the contractor has failed to cover the bridge to pave way for road users.
Farmers have to carry their farm produce to cross where the diversion was made which I’ d muddy now due to the rainfalls. Motorists have to meander their ways through Mud to prevent their vehicles from getting stuck or skidding off their main routes.
Speaking to the Dadematse(ODIKRO) of Bonkame and Sna, Nene NARH KWAO said, he being the chief has no idea about the contractor on the road and as he begun his work, he has blocked the bonkame river and due to that it has caused huge havoc to cocoa farms and other plantations.

He revealed that market women and road users are unable to ply the road because of the shody works of the contractor.
” We are still in the raining season and things are getting out of hands. Farm produces are rotting because they dont want to ply the road with their vehicles and get stuck. ” – Nene Narh said.
Moreover, he charged the Fanteakwa south district Assembly that if they are in existence then they should come to their aid with immediate effect else if someone dies they will hold the Assembly and the contractor responsible.
Mr samuel Nartey popularly known as Nartey Obey said the contractor has failed to cover the bridge which is affecting him.
He said they have reported the issue to the D. C. E of Fanteakwa south, Hon. Ntori Adjabeng and he has promised them but as at now nothing has been done about it.
He said trucks from kumasi that ply Osino, Hemang and Bonkame road has landed into the river for more than three times but as a rural community those around saw it but didn’ t go viral.
Samuel Nartey, a native said they have seen the works of the MP and the DCE but they have to speed up the contractor to fulfill his task.
He added that if the contractor wont continue the road construction, they dont care but he should just fixed the bridge for them to be able to ply it.
Nicholas Tetteh, the Youth Leader of Bonkame also said its been four Months now that the contractor completed the bridge but has refused to cover it to pave way for them.
When ever they want to Transport foodstuff, unless they carry them on their head and cross before tricycle can even pickup the goods, a situation he described as very worrying.
He therefore appealed to Nana Addo, president of Ghana and Memeber of Parliament for Fanteakwa south, kofi Okyere Agyekum popularly known as Arafat to step in even if the contractor wont fix the road, he should just cover the bridge for them so that they will transport their goods to market and make money for themselves.
