The former president of Ghana and 2020 flagbearer of the opposition national democratic Congress, NDC, Mr John Dramani Mahama has confidently stated without mincing words that he would not go to supreme court after the outcome of the 2024 general election should he be the flag- bearer of the party.

Speaking in the NDCs thank you tour at the Bono and Bono East regions, the former president clearly stated that he would do everything in his capacity to ensure that no one is cheated at the polling station following the outcome of the 2020 election petition.

” We won’ t go to the Supreme Court again. You must do the right thing at the polling station and so I’ m telling all my party members that they must be at the polling station and make sure the right thing is done. They must be at the collation centers and make sure the right thing is done. Don’ t abdicate your responsibility at that level and expect that after someone has stolen the election, you will take to the Supreme Court to see if they will turn the results for you. They won’ t do it. ” – Former President Mahama said.

Former President John Dramani Mahama revealed his intention to vie for the 2024 general election but was quick to add that with him as the flag- bearer on the NDC, the party will not go to the Supreme Court again because his members will man the polling stations and collation centers so well that the electoral commission will have no option than to declare a free and fair election.

” 2024 Election is a do or die affairs. NDC must man the polling station. They must man the collation centers and make sure the pink sheets are correct; make sure we get the right results and everything. Maybe someone will become the flag- bearer but if I become the flag- bearer, I’ m not going to the Supreme Court. We must win at the polling stations and the collation centers. We will finish and the electoral commission will have no option than to declare the true winner” – JDM maintained.

He added that the 2020 election has thought them lesson and they would do the needful in the 2024 general election. Though his statement has generated a lot of reactions in the nation, former president Mahama maintains his stance that the 2024 general election will be a ‘ Do or die’ affair.
