Diaso Senior High School (DIASS) is a co-educational day/boarding second cycle institution established in 1991.
Meanwhile, this noble institution was without a Governing Board for the past two decades.
After a clarion call by Nana Agya Ameyaw II, the Diasohene, the headmaster and management of the school, and other opinion leaders on the various authorities of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service, a new one has been instituted to manage the affairs of the school.
In his opening response, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Albert Joseph Koduah, the former Manager and Head of Security and Fraud Unit of GCB Bank Ltd., recounted that “It is this vision to make DIASS one of the best performing schools in the areas of academics, hands-on skills, discipline and morality, good citizenship, sports, and games, etc., that has energised me to be the chairman of this august occasion.”

In addition, the former Chief Inspector of Ghana Police Service of the Criminal Investigations Department, admonished the Board to work in collaboration with Nananom, the District Assembly, Member of Parliament, District Education Service, the management of DIASS, and the good people of the land to ensure lasting success.
The headmaster under whose tenure this historic occasion took place, Rev. Samuel Williams Quaynor, emphasized the need for such a Board which has been missing in action for the past 20years. He expressed his delight for the Board to assist him in ensuring that great DIASS improves on her current academic performance of being the fifth (5) the best school in Central Region in the 2020 WASSCE.
“The over 1000 students would be glad to see the 600 girls and 400 beds boys domitories which are about 85% complete to be occupied,” he asserted.
Declaring the new Board duly inaugurated, the Central Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Martha Owusu Agyeman, in accordance with Section 14 of the Education Act, 1961 (Act 87), urged members of the Board to collaborate with the head and management of the school rather than fighting them.
She also advised them to always consider what they can do for the school and not what the school can do for them.
Poised for action, the Chairman of the new Board, Mr. Richmond Koduah, a proud native of Diaso and a lecturer of Wisconsin International University College said, “despite the challenges confronting great DIASS, looking at the academic backgrounds, professional legacies, and experiences of this solid Board, I am of the firm belief that we can surmount these challenges.”
In conclusion, he iterated, ” With God’s help and your unflinching support, we accept the mandate to a govern this reputable institution.”
The Diasohene, Nana Agya Ameyaw II, was well represented by his able sub-chiefs in their colourful kente clothes.
