37th Farmers Day: A 45 Year Old Farmer Wins Fanteakwa South Best Farmer Award

Out of the 21 winners in the just ended farmers’ day celebration in the Fanteakwa South district in the eastern region, Mr Samuel Nartey, a 45 year old farmer wins the ultimate in the district.
Mr Samuel Nartey, a resident of Bosuso took home a brand new Royal tricycle, roofing sheets, Knapsack Sprayer, Wellington boot, cutlass, vet drugs, and certificate.
Out of the 21 awards, 5 female farmers were honoured, 14 male farmers, one agro-processing group and one basic school took the rest of the awards.
This year’s celebration was held at the forecourt of Nsutam town hall and was graced by prominent chiefs, individuals and corporate institutions.

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum reiterated the gov’t’s position on consolidating our food systems and lauded the NPP government for the flagship programs initiated. He also added sewing machines to all female awardees to motivate women in Agriculture.
The District chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Ofosu also spoke on the measures by the Akufo-Addo led NPP government to promote Agriculture in the nation. He urged all to continue the hardwork for the government in power will not let them down.
The award system saw improvement from previous awards as the Agric Dirctor, lauded the MP, DCE and other sponsors.
The sponsors were the MP, Yaks Roofing System, Mumuadu Rural Bank, Narawa Mining Company, Transeco mining and other corporate institutions.
