Fanteakwa South: NCCE Embarks On Save The Youth Campaign

The National Commission For Civic Education, NCCE, has introduced “Save the youth” campaign to help curb some bad behaviors among youth to help promote peace and harmonious environment towards Christmas.
The NCCE Fanteakwa South (Osino) in a sensitization program on 24th November, 2021 at The Church Of Pentecost-Osino Central, met the attendance of a section of the media, students and other dignitaries.
The Director of NCCE Mr Kwadwo Adu-Asare introduced the theme for the gathering; “The Future of The Youth our Responsibility”.
A public health Nurse at the Fanteakwa south District Health Directorate, Madam Pekria Owusu represented the Directorate and centred on the causes and effect of Teenage pregnancy as well as Drug addictions. She urged the youth to stay away from such acts to prevent school drop outs and single parenting.

However, the Police Commander of Anyinam, DSP Joseph Owusu educated the gathering on how one can protect him or herself against robbery and kidnapping. He said, it is impossible to stop armed robbers from invading houses but one needs to do something to stay safe. “always make sure your doors and windows are well locked”. The commander added that they’ve advised communities on the formation of community Watchdogs to report any irresponsible behavior or actions in the community to them .
