The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Health directorate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Service (GHS), and developing partners, are set to commence the COVID-19 booster vaccinations for residents within the Municipality.

The booster vaccination is expected to start from Wednesday, February 2nd, to Sunday, February 6th, across the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality.

The Booster vaccination, according to the health officials, is targeted at people who had taken the full jabs of the various vaccines administered during the mass vaccination exercise last year.

In a statement signed by Dr, Esther Priscilla Biamah-Danquah, Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Health Director, a copy available to the Ghana News Agency, explained that all persons of 15-year-old and above, including pregnant women and people fully vaccinated, including those who took their full dose three months ago, were required to go and take the booster vaccination.

The statement stated that the booster vaccination would help achieve immunity against COVID-19 and its related infections.

It further stated that a team of health officials would be positioned at designated places, including vaccinations centres across the municipality for the exercise.

‘Market places, churches, lorry stations, Mosques, and weighing centres would be manned by health officials during the vaccination period,” the statement added.
