Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, has been prompted by former Director-General of the police operation Yaw Gyimah to look into other parts of the country as well.
Talking on the radio with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Wofa Yaw Gyimah emphasized that George Dampare has his own way of going about the job, which he praised in particular for his oversight in Accra.

Former Director-General observed that Ghana is not only Accra, thus he recommended him to do the same in other cities and rural regions where there are ongoing criminal activities.

Wofa Yaw Gyimah said additional background checks should be done while hiring police officers after the recent police theft in which the Accra regional police command murdered two police officers who were engaged in the bullion assault robbery

In today’s world, police officers who have been on the force for less than two years are already spotted driving luxury automobiles and buying elaborate estates, which was something he lamented.
