The opposition National Democratic Congress in Suhum Municipality in the Eastern region of Ghana has bemoaned on the slow pace of development in the municipality and blame it on the alleged rift between the Member of Parliament and his Municipal Chief Executive.

According to the NDC, the once darling boy of Suhum NPP, Hon. Kwadjo Asante popularly called Oboafo, is now not in good terms with his MCE, Hon. Margaret Darko and the reason Suhum is undeveloped.

This was revealed in the Suhum NDC’s press conference and reaffirmed by the constituency communication officer, Daniel Chanor, in a phone interview with Nana Kwabena Addo on Radio 1 100.7fm.

Daniel Chanor lamented on the state of deplorable roads in the municipality as well as abandoning the projects inherited from the John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

He also alleged that the rift is as a result of the Hon. Margaret Darko endorsing and preparing another candidate to unseat Hon. Kwadjo Asante in the next election.

However, he added that he would be of a great disservice to his municipality as a patriotic citizen to rate the performance of the MP, MCE and the NPP government at large if he should even rate them at 5%.

“Nana, these people have failed us. They have virtually done nothing in the municipality. No good roads, no better projects and they have abandoned projects that were started under former president John Dramani Mahama. I will be of a great disservice to them if I rate them above 5%. They have failed. They are not performing because of the grudge between our MP and MCE. They are at loggerheads so if the MP is at point A, the MCE is at point B. It is not helping us.”

The communication officer finally revealed that the MCE is preparing one Protozoa, a presidential staffer to unseat Hon. Kwadjo Asante.
