Electricity: PPTC Rubbishes John Jinapor’s GHC 17b In Excess Capacity Bills Payment

The Power Planning Technical Committee (PPTC) has issued a statement debunking some claims made by the Ranking Member of Mines and Energy, John Abdulai Jinapor on issues concerning Ghana’s electricity.
 
Mr Jinapor alleged that the ruling NPP had made a baseless and unfounded allegation that Ghana has excess electricity generation capacity that the country does not need, leading to a payment of about GHC 17 billion in excess capacity bills.
 
But the chairman of the PPTC, Ing, Frank Otchere in a statement copied to Peacefonline.com said his claims are ‘untrue’.
