Within Two Months Our Roads Would Be Tarred – MP Assures Constituents

Though, not surprising to the citizenry, the Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum who is affectionately called Hon. Arafat has reiterated the biggest or major problem in his constituency.

While the problem may be peculiar to other constituencies, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum sees the need to reveal and assure the able constituents the measures put in place to address the situation.

In a phone interview with Obido Nana Gyasi on Radio 1, the legislator, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum revealed that the major problem in the constituency is their roads. However, plans are far reached to begin bitumen surfacing of the roads within the next two months.

“In fanteakwa South, our only problem now is our road networks but let me assure you that we will do it. Within the next two months, contractors will be on the road to construct the roads from Osino – Bosuso, Osino – Juaso and Osino town roads because Osino is the district capital.” – Hon. Arafat revealed.

He admitted the constituents have been patient enough but pleaded for a little more patience as sooner than later the roads would be tarred.

When asked whether the contractors won’t do same as the previous contractors, he responded that “I can’t give you a guarantee but I believe he won’t be like the others.”

Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum added that plans are under to extend the road surfacing to the Krobo bloc though there are contractors on some of their roads.

Fanteakwa South Constituency was carved from the parent fanteakwa constituency and so far Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum happens to be the first and only member of Parliament on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
