The Ghana Education Service (GES) has asked Senior High School Heads to mobilize their Management teams to ensure student safety and wellbeing.
This comes after the leadership of numerous unions in the Pre-Tertiary Education Sector launched on a statewide strike in response to government’s inability to provide them a 20% cost of living allowance amidst high inflation, price increases, etc.

The GES said it had called union leaders to a meeting to review the development and next steps.

Parents should remain calm and know that management is constantly monitoring the issue and will advise on the next steps.

Regional and district directors have been told to keep all basic schools open and oversee youngsters who attend.
