Video: Flood Blocks Osino – Hemang Road As Birim River Overflows

The road linking Osino – Hemang in the fanteakwa south district in the eastern region got flooded after a heavy downpour.

The road is blocked as the Birim River overflowed to possess the road.

While people are blaming it on the mining activities that took place there, others are also of the view that the rain was heavy and long.

In the interim, Residents of Dwenanse, Abompe, Gyampomani, Hemang, and Dome have to use the Adasawase – Anyinam road to Osino. Those also going from Osino also have to use Anyinam Adasawase road.

Though no life or property is lost, drivers now have to increase their fares from ¢5 and ¢5.40 to ¢15 and ¢20 respectively.

The citizenry have over the years bemoaned on this poor road network, however, the member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum has promised them bitumen surfacing of the roads in no time.
