The Assin Central Member of Parliament for the NPP, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has waded into the decision by his party, NPP to seek economic support from the International Monetary Fund.

According to him, he was dumbfounded when he saw the publication that they now have to resort to IMF.

This was revealed in a viral video where Hon. Ken Agyapong was seen addressing NPP supporters. In the said video he revealed that going to IMF is just like handling over the power to NDC without a contest.

“What are we going to say again? Somebody texted me, don’t say anything about the IMF. Me, I will say it. You know going to IMF is just like handling over power to the NDC without a contest. Because the noise we did and i choose my words back that the NDC went to IMF because of mismanagement of the economy. So what are we going to say again?” – Hon. Ken Agyapong said.

He added that the NPP cannot use the same faces that go to IMF to break the 8.

“So breaking the 8 is going to be tough. You cannot use the face of those who took us to IMF to break the 8. It won’t work. My message to you is simple, read my lips and i’m not scared of anybody in the party. I’ll tell you the gospel truth, those who take us to IMF cannot break the 8.”

Who are these faces

The vice president, H.E. Dr Bawumia is head of the economic management team and there are indications that he would contest as the flagbearer of the party after President Akufo-Addo’s term of office expires. So simply put, Dr Bawumia is leading the government to IMF.

If that be the case, the Ken Agyapong indirectly is referring to Dr Bawumia as the face which cannot break the 8.

But the question is, what is wrong with IMF? Let’s have your comments below;
