Can you manage your marriage with less than a thousand Ghana cedis a month?
A radio presenter and blogger, Obido has advised that citizens and residents in Ghana should not attempt to marry if they earn anything less than one thousand Ghana cedis (¢1,000.00) a month.
According to him, if anyone attempts, their marriage would be hell.
“The living conditions in Ghana demands that only well paid residents can live happily and accommodate each other but for one to break even, he/she must earn not less than a thousand Ghana cedis.”

He explained further that the cost of living in Ghana now is not favorable for marriage especially to those who earn less than ¢1,000.00.
“If you want to marry, make sure at least you earn above ¢1,000.00 a month. Anything below that will make your marriage a hell because you won’t be able to take good care of yourselves. You just won’t be happy and you may die soon” – Obido said.
“Imagine taking less than ¢1,000 and you need to rent a house, let’s say ¢100.00 a month. You spend ¢30 a day on food daily, the month would be ¢900. You have exhausted your ¢1,000.00. How would you pay your utility bills? How would you change your wardrobe, how would you budget for contingency and talk of saving for future and your kids?” – He added
You may not agree but that can be a fact due to the current cost of living and the approach by the government in mitigating the Covid-19 after effects.
He added that husbands should not rely on what their wives make because their wives salaries are theirs and they (wives) decide how to spend it.
