Nkronso M/A JHS beats KPCE Demonstration and Wirenkyiren Amanfrom M/A to win the 3rd edition of the Kingsley Science and Maths Quiz.

The grand finale of this year’s 3rd edition of Kingsley’s Science and Maths quiz and Spelling Challenge took place at Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Auditorium at the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education and was very keen and interesting as the winners could only emerge at the end of the contest.

Nkronso M/A secured 56 points after the five rounds followed by the first runner up, KPCE Demonstration which also garnered 52 points and the 2nd runner up, Wirenkyiren got 33 points.

In the Spelling Challenge, Rock Of Ages School beat Asiakwa Presby Primary and Akosua Agyeiwaa Memorial Methodist Basic School to win the second edition.

Motivation for the competition

1. Each school was presented a preparatory fee of ¢500.

2. All participatory schools received participation certificate.

3. Schools that progressed from each level were awarded certificates of recognition.

4. The best performing schools at the quarter final received the Beulah Award ( cash price of ¢500.00 each)

5. The best performing school at the semi final received Luki Award ( cash price of ¢500.00 each)

6. Contestants of schools that made it to the final each received a laptop, a set of learning materials with a laptop. Their coaches/teachers also went home with a laptop each.

7. Each contestant of the 2nd runner up received ¢500.00 and the school had ¢1,000

8.Each contestant of the 1st runner up received ¢1,000 for the Maths a and Science Quiz and the school had ¢2,000. For the spelling challenge, each contestant received a cash prize of ¢700.00 and the school took home ¢1,500.

9. Each contestant of the winning school in the Maths and Science Quiz received ¢1,500 while their respective schools got ¢3,000 in addition to a project that does not exceed ¢20,000.

10. All finalists, both in spelling challenge and Science and Maths Quiz competition to go on educational trip in Malaysia including two coaches/teachers from each school.

The Abuakwa South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Akosua Asabea, outlined her observations and advised the gathering on it especially the contestants. She touched on patience, teamwork, Confidence, diligence and responsible, Well organized and attentiveness.

Addressing the gathering, the founder and leader of Kingsley Quizzes, Hon. Kingsley Agyeman who happens to be the registrar of Ghana Scholarship Secretariat and doubles as a board member of Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, acknowledged his partners through whose supports have made the program a success; Ghana Education Service, Techno mobile, Beulah, Luki media, Fashions Ghana, Fashionable Africa, and a host of others.

He added that they are being powered for future sake and encouraged them to take their academics serious.

The all important grand finale was graced by traditional authorities, Regional and Municipal representatives of the Ghana Education Service, the district commander of police, Abuakwa south constituency party executives both in the NDC and NPP, and citizenry of the Abuakwa south municipality.

In fact, it was a very successful event.
