Radio really gets results and it is confirmed here in the Fanteakwa South district in the eastern region as three non governmental organizations come together to build ultramodern earth library for the citizenry.
If institutions have Corporate Social Responsibilities, then one will assume that this would probably be one of the Social Responsibilities of Radio 1 Ghana 100.7fm as a story written, cast and published on their website and shared on other social media platforms, drives three NGO’s to attend to their plea.
How It Started
The founder and leader of Libreria Ghana and member of Book Drop Ghana, Ms Sylvia Arthur, saw an article on Radio1’s Instagram page, radio1gh, where the chief of Nsutam, Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankuma appealed for support in building a library for his subjects. This organization through Ms Sylvia Arthur, notified Hive Earth and went further to informed Archifair.

The three came to meet the Chief and elders of Nsutam then went back to mobilize funds and other resources to put up this all important structure.
The said library upon completion would be first of it’s kind in the region.
They are expected to use three months to complete this library and hand it over to the community. So by mid – October if all things be equal, Nsutam Earth Library would be ready.
The library is composed of a reading room, computer room and other relevant demands of a modern library.
What is so exciting is that these organizations are building with their own personnel and supported with some community members upon their demand.
Most of the members are University students with some having their first degree and others, their second degrees.
The progress of the project will be monitored and communicated as and when needed.
After the project is done, Book Drop Ghana has pledged to stock it with the necessary books and together with Radio 1, Chief and the opinion leaders of the community, make the place active and run as expected.
Thank you Radio 1, Book Drop Ghana, Hive Earth, Archifair and Osabarima Baafi Sarpong Kumankuma.
