Fatawu Mohammed made headlines raving about his old team, Hearts of Oak. Mohammed was supposedly discharged by the team because he was no longer needed.
The 30-year-old right defender told Sports Obama TV that Hearts of Oak had provided him nothing after ten years not even a bicycle.

Vincent Sowah Odotei, a board member for the club, told Class Sports that Fatawu Mohammed is well-paid and wonders why he would make such charges against the 2020/21 premier league winners.

Semenyo Odotei disclosed Fatawu Mohammed’s salary.

“How much does Fatawu make a month?” GHS9,600! Board member: “That’s his gross income.”

Odotei said, “If a player is receiving this type of money and he comes on radio and says he regrets playing for Hearts of Oak, Hearts of Oak is a garbage club, people should not respect and everything, that’s alright, great.”

He also said that although the club isn’t interested in what players say, it needed to correct Fatawu’s evaluation.

Former La Dade Kotopon MP: “People will spend money and time.” We’re not interested in player banter. “I’m not impolite or arrogant, but we’re human and must say things,” he said.

Odotei said Fatawu got the things he has today due of his 10-year dedication to Hearts. He said the club had nothing to say about Fatawu’s statements.

“See Fatawu bragging that he’s acquired five pieces of land and constructed a home or two due to Hearts of Oak. If he feels Hearts of Oak is a bad club, Barnieh shouldn’t sign, that’s OK. Odotei sighed.

“We’re speechless.” If he makes GHS9,600 to 9,800 and still trashes the club, great. Vincent Sowah Odotei hoped you’d reveal his salary.

Fatawu Mohammed has won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup twice, President’s Cup, and Super Cup.
