During a rainstorm, a 5-year-old girl was crushed to death and her sibling was seriously injured by a collapsed building at Ada Magazine, a suburb of New Juaben South in the Eastern Region.
The back of a compound house’s concrete block chamber and hall room collapsed on two siblings, a five-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, who were in the bedroom while their mother was cooking in the kitchen.
According to Diana Labotey, the mother of the two children, the concrete wall crushed the girl’s head, killing her instantly, but the boy was trapped beneath the rubble.
He was rescued, but he sustained serious injuries.

Both victims were taken to the Eastern Regional Hospital, where Kukua Esther, the Kindergarten student, was pronounced dead and the boy was admitted for treatment.
According to medical professionals, he is recovering.
“The kids were standing behind me in the kitchen, but I noticed they were cold, so I asked them to come in.” After about 10 minutes, I heard a loud noise and rushed into the room, where I discovered the back of the building had collapsed on the children. The girl’s head was badly damaged, so when we rushed them to the hospital, she was pronounced dead, but the boy is still there.”The story was told by a bereaved mother.
The body of the deceased girl has been deposited at the morgue pending further investigation by police.
