E/R: Three drown after Car crashes into river at Enyiresi

Three(3) persons aboard a private Hyundai Sonata car with registration number GS 777-16 have been confirmed dead after crashing into a river along the Accra to Kumasi highway.

The crash occurred at Enyiresi in the Eastern region.

Sources say the driver of the Hyundai vehicle lost control, somersaulted, and plunged into a nearby river when attempting to swerve on the coming Sprinter bus, which was overtaking another vehicle ostensibly to avoid a head-on collision.

All three (3) persons aboard the vehicle made up of two females and a male drowned instantly.

A joint rescue team by Police and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service towed the vehicle from the river and retrieved the bodies for preservation at Engresi Hospital morgue pending identification by family members.
