Following the recent happenings during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse movement, Ghanaians have increased called on footballers and athletes to use their platforms to fight against police brutality and economic hardship.

The social media-based #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstrations attracted a lot of attention and support, with many calling for an end to police brutality and the acknowledgement of the right to peaceful protest.

49 people came together for these nonviolent protests, which were organized by the Democracy Hub, to call for action against the nation’s corruption and economic crises.

However, when protesters were exposed to unlawful detentions and brutal treatment by the police, what was supposed to be a peaceful march took a dangerous turn.

Critics have harshly criticized these measures, pointing out the flagrant disregard for the right to peaceful assembly and the excessive use of force.

Ghanaians are increasingly looking to their sports heroes for support as demands for justice and responsibility become more urgent.

The majority of supporters think that the contributions of Ghana’s elite sports figures will raise awareness of the challenges facing the nation.

It is hoped that prominent sports figures from Ghana will speak out against injustice during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests by using their platforms. Ghanaians think that the power and popularity of athletes may assist spread the word to halt police violence and demand better treatment for civilians
