One of the agenda items that will feature in discussions at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Friday, February 23 is the resignation of Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu resigned during a meeting between President Akufo-Addo and the party’s members of Parliament at the Jubilee House on February 21.

In announcing his decision to step down, Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said among others that, “In my absence from the Country, certain issues had been raised to which I have been connected. I do not want to be the eye of the storm. Nothing should be done that would precipitate cataclysmic consequences. That is why I am stressing peace and unity.
