Mahama promises to decentralize the mineral commission

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said in his next government which is coming next January 7th, 2025, he will decentralize the mineral commission at the district level to help curb illegal mining (galamsey).
Ex-President John Dramani Mahama said in his next government as president of Ghana he is anticipating that come 2025, he will decentralize the mineral commission to the district level where mining activities are going on to help curb illegal mining activities in the country.
As the election is approaching, most presidential aspirants are going all over the country sharing their visions, and promising the voters lives in heaven for voters to vote for them come the Dec. 7 general election.
As the ex-president is embarking on his two-day tour in the Eastern region for his nationwide tour named “THE GHANA WE WANT” his train came to Fanteakwa South and stopped at Akyem-Nsutam where he assured that the miners will not have to go to Greater-Accra or regional offices for registration of their mining companies and trucks (excavator). The district-level mineral commission will be in charge of registering local mining companies and their excavators and also monitoring the activities of the local mining companies.

His government will employ the graduates from the University of Mines at Tarkwa at the district level to monitor and supervise the activities of the local mining companies to help the safety of environmental mining.
