Your small-scale mining plans are ‘heartwarming’ – Fanteakwa South hails Mahama

Kingsley Owusu Newman, the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region’s Fanteakwa South Constituency, lauded party flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for his proposed initiatives aimed at supporting small-scale miners.

Mahama pledged that a future NDC government under his leadership would guarantee that all 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) have operational Minerals Commission offices.

This move, he explained, would streamline the process for small-scale miners to obtain land documentation, enabling them to conduct their activities legally and without hassle. He emphasized that establishing local Minerals Commission offices would eliminate the need for miners to travel long distances to the Accra office for land documentation and other paperwork.

This would save them time, money, and resources, ultimately contributing to their overall success Kingsley Newman Adu further commended Mr. Mahama for his decision not to burn the miners’ excavators likewise the NPP government when ceased rather would be used to transform back the destroyed lands and other natural resources.

Speaking to Radio1’s Armah Paulina at Nsutam during John Dramani Mahama’s Building Ghana We Want two-day Eastern tour where he engaged the Small Scale Miners and Timber Contractors Association to listen to the challenges confronting their work and plans he had for them when elected President in 2024.

The Parliamentary candidate added, “If he fulfills this promise it will create many job opportunities for the youth because the main source of work in Fanteakwa South is mining, when the youth get jobs it helps reduce the unemployment and crime rates in our various communities.”

He then seized the opportunity and pleaded with the Fanteakwa South constituents to vote for him come December 7, 2024, because he has put in place measures that will help transform .
