NPP Mourns John Kumah: Directs all party flags to fly at half-mast

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a statement mourning the sudden demise of the Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah.
The death of the deputy Finance Minister rather came as a shock to all and sundry.
In an official press release signed by the NPP General Secretary, lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party expressed deep sadness for the industrious stalwart of the party and Ejisu legislator who was reported to have been sick for a while.
Portions of the Press statement reads, “The New Patriotic Party has learnt with grief the shocking demise of Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah, Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency, which sad event occurred on March 7, 2024.”
Hon. John Kumah during his teenage years, was elected as a school prefect for the Opoku Ware School in the Ashanti Region. His passion for leadership was top-notch.

The party eulogised the late John Kumah describing him as a person who had showed great leadership skills throughout his career as a politician. He was described again as a Member of Parliament who catered for the needs of his constituents.
Hon. John Kumah passed at the age of 45 leaving behind his wife and six children. Prior to his political pursuits, he was a businessman and an entrepreneur, an acumen which landed him an appointment as the first Chief Executive Officer of the national Entrepreneurial and Innovation Programme (NEIP) during the first tenure of the Akufo Addo government.
In relation to his demise, the NPP has directed all party flags to fly at half-mast for the next seven days.
The party, therefore, extends their deepest condolence to the bereaved family and loved ones for the painful exit of an illustrious son of Ejisu and an astute member of the New Patriotic Party.
