A three-day residential Knowledge and Sensitization Training Workshops under the Building Resilient and Active Communities in Extractive Landscapes in Ghana (BRACE) project funded by the European Union kick start today August 8, 2024, at K-Archy Hotel- Kyebi.
According to Arocha Ghana, this initiative aims to equip community stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills to advocate for improved natural resource governance, environmental management, and protection of environmental rights in the extractives sector.
The workshops aim to build capacities among key community groups to safely gather evidence, advocate for environmental rights, and hold state and private sector actors accountable. The workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including national and international environmental legislation, rights to Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC), and strategies for effective advocacy and negotiation.
“We believe your participation will be invaluable in building a stronger, more informed, and active community capable of advocating for sustainable and just natural resource management,” Arocha Ghana.
