Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced plans to implement a weighing and measurement system aimed at promoting fair trade practices and consumer protection in Ghana.
Speaking to a large gathering in Ayeremu, a farming community in the Krachi East Municipality, during a two-day tour, Mr. Nketia explained that the system is designed to ensure consumers receive accurate quantities of goods, while farmers and traders are fairly compensated.
He added that these measures would help local farmers get full value for their produce, build consumer confidence, and encourage fair trading in Ghanaian markets.
He also took the opportunity to call for political change in the upcoming 2024 general elections, promising that the NDC would restore the dignity and prestige of the presidency.

“The change is coming, and like many Ghanaians, I am certain that on December 7, 2024, you will vote for change to end the suffering of this country,” he said, urging voters to support Mr. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in their quest to reshape the nation’s future.
