Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed strong sentiments about the challenges faced by Ghanaian women in their day-to-day lives. Speaking in an exclusive interview on Radio 1’s Morning Show with Nana Kwabena Addo, she said that while Ghanaian women are hardworking, they are often hindered by a system that does not adequately support them.

“Ghanaian women are not lazy; they work with whatever they have, but the system has failed them,” she remarked during the interview.

Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the NDC government, if voted into power, would work towards creating better conditions for women, especially in areas such as healthcare and commerce. She emphasized that women deserve the respect and support of the state in order to thrive in their various roles across society.

“Our government will provide better conditions for women to work. We will ensure better medical treatment, better markets, and a more supportive environment that recognizes the importance of women in our economy,” she added.
