The National Democratic Congress (NDC) made a statement during a discussion on Radio1’s morning program called Ɔman Mu Nsem.

Simon Teye, speaking on behalf of the NDC, criticized the Vice President, now the Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of being irresponsible regarding politics.

He explained, “When Bawumia was an economist before becoming Vice President, he did nothing to address the challenges facing our economy. Therefore, Bawumia has no credibility to speak on our economy now.”

Mr. Teye also remarked, “When Dr. Bawumia became Vice President, he claimed that he had ‘arrested the dollars’ and put the keys in the IGP’s pocket, but that was not true. The dollar is still rising.”

Furthermore, Mr. Teye emphasized, “Now, John Dramani Mahama is the only one who can lead Ghana. Under Mahama’s government, he built 150 hospitals nationwide in just four years.”

He continued, “Dr. Bawumia has failed Ghana. The NPP continues to blame the Russia-Ukraine war and the COVID-19 pandemic for our economic problems, but these are not the real reasons for the country’s lack of progress.”

Mr. Teye concluded by urging all Ghanaians to vote for John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections, stating, “Mahama has done it before for Ghanaians, and he can do it again.”
