The Eastern Region Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Thony Kofi Adjei, speaking on Radio1’s morning show, stated that “they are not forcing John Mahama, the Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), into a debate, but at least on the issue of galamsey, they can debate on it.”

According to Mr. Adjei, “In other countries, when elections are approaching, all political parties engage in debates to present their policies to the people, so that citizens can make an informed decision on who to vote for or against.”

He continued by emphasizing that debates are important, as they allow each candidate to showcase their plans and ideas. “Dr. Bawumia has introduced good policies, so John Mahama and the NDC should come forward and present their own policies through a debate,” he said.

Mr. Adjei also highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s stance on tackling the issue of galamsey, saying, “Dr. Bawumia has put forward effective policies on how to combat galamsey, and he is calling on John Mahama to at least come out and share his own plan for addressing this issue.”
