Former President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians of his commitment to safeguarding the country’s environment and natural resources if given another opportunity to lead.

In an interview on Sunrise FM, monitored by RadioOneGhana.com, Mr. Mahama vowed to implement strict measures to protect water bodies and lands from further degradation, particularly from illegal mining and environmental exploitation.

“Under my government, no one will destroy the environment. Our lands and water bodies will be safe with me,” he promised, emphasizing the critical role of sustainable development in ensuring the country’s future.

The former president expressed concern over the current state of environmental degradation and its impact on communities, livelihoods, and public health. He stressed that his administration would enforce laws to prevent illegal activities and promote sustainable practices.
