Tension and conflict have arisen in the Odododiodio constituency’s Mantse Palace No. 1 polling station, where a male voter was hurt in a furious altercation.
The injured man is shown in a widely shared video, surrounded by worried bystanders, bleeding heavily. Others had to escort him out of the scene to avoid more conflict with his alleged aggressor since, despite his injuries, he seemed furious and unyielding.
An purported NPP supporter accused the NDC official of moving the voter register to an unapproved location where voting was not taking place, according to Christian Yalley, a TV3 reporter on the scene.
Confusion broke up as the official tried to clarify her behavior, and a violent altercation resulted. Since then, the NPP supporter who got into the altercation has been brought to the police station to be questioned. This event has only increased worries about security in the area, as Odododiodio has long been known to be a hotspot for election-related violence. Voters complained about the pale ink on the ballots earlier in the day, raising concerns that the vote might not be genuine. However, the Electoral Commission (EC) responded quickly to allay these worries and promised voters that every ballot they cast would be precisely counted.
