The Fanteakwa District CCP Co-operative Cola Farmers and Marketing Union Ltd. has taken a bold step to address a pressing need in the Akwansrem community.

Recognizing the challenges faced by local students, the union recently constructed and commissioned a new Junior High School (JHS) block to improve access to education.

For years, students in Akwansrem faced a daunting challenge, the nearest junior high school was 40 miles away. This distance discouraged many children from pursuing further education and placed an immense burden on families. “If we leave everything to the government, the problems will persist,” he said Mr. Ofori Gyekye Kennedy, the Union President, during the commissioning ceremony. “Our goal is to support the government by addressing critical gaps and improving education in our community.”

The new JHS block is a significant milestone for Akwansrem. It symbolizes the union’s commitment to not only enhancing the lives of its members through economic empowerment but also fostering sustainable development in the region.
