The National Deputy Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, has outlined the party’s plans for women under the leadership of President-elect John Dramani Mahama. Speaking on Radio 1’s morning show Oman Mu Nsem, Mrs. Mensah expressed optimism about the future of women in Ghana.

She stated, “The president-elect John Mahama is coming for women; therefore, women’s lives are going to get better.”

Mrs. Mensah praised John Mahama for choosing a woman, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, as his running mate, now Vice President-elect. “John Dramani Mahama took a woman, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, as his running mate, now Vice President-elect, so that she will think about Ghanaian women,” she noted.

Emphasizing the NDC’s commitment to women’s empowerment, she added, “This second coming of John Dramani Mahama depends on women. She said Ghanaian women are going to get benefits from the government. Therefore, I urge everyone to calm down because the Women Development Bank is going to help women get loans to grow their businesses.”
