On Friday, February 28, 2025, the District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Fanteakwa South-Osino embarked on an educational tour to the KIA Health Facility in Saamang with learners from Kwampaw Preparatory School.
Objectives of the Tour
The tour aimed to promote healthy citizenship among young learners, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, balanced diets, and proactive health practices. This initiative was particularly relevant given the recent surge in cholera cases.

- The District Director, Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare, reiterated the significance of the Civic Education Club in inculcating the principles and spirit of the Ghanaian Constitution among learners.

The Physician Assistant, Mr. William Yaw Oppong commended the NCCE for organizing the initiative and enlightened learners on essential health practices, including handwashing, balanced diets, and regular check-ups.

Learners participated in a guided tour of the health facility, exploring the theater, laboratory, outpatient department (OPD), and other facilities.
Outcome
The educational tour, which commenced at 9:00 am and concluded at 11:00 am, achieved its objectives in promoting healthy citizenship among young learners. The NCCE’s initiative demonstrates its commitment to empowering Ghanaian youth with essential knowledge, skills, and values for responsible citizenship.
