Hon. Rudolf Mantey Calls for Urgent Action by IGP and Ghana Police Service to Arrest Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri
Accra – In light of recent disturbing remarks made by Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, urging NPP supporters to engage in violent acts against NDC supporters, I, Hon. Rudolf Mantey, hereby call on the Inspector General of Police and the Ghana Police Service to take immediate action and arrest Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh for inciting violence in the area.
The statements attributed to Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh, allegedly encouraging NPP supporters to gang up and physically assault NDC supporters in the Ablekuma North area, are not only reckless but also pose a direct threat to the peace and security of the country’s. Such incendiary rhetoric has no place in our democratic society and must be met with swift and decisive action.
As public officials, we have a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the well-being of all citizens, regardless of their political leanings. Inciting violence goes against the fundamental principles of democracy and tolerance that we strive to uphold in Ghana.
I urge the IGP and the Ghana Police Service to launch a thorough investigation into this matter and ensure that appropriate legal measures are taken against Hon. Frank Annor Dompreh if the allegations are confirmed. Accountability must be upheld, and those who seek to sow division and promote violence must face the consequences of their actions.
Let us recommit ourselves to fostering a culture of peace, respect, and dialogue in our communities. Let justice prevail, and let us stand united against any form of incitement to violence.
Signed,
Hon. Rudolf Mantey
